350 Tacoma has cared for little marsh for seven years now as part of the Tacoma Open Spaces Program. Little marsh is located on the ancestral tide flats of the Puyallup Tribe, in what is known today as the Port of Tacoma, offers a glimpse of what the area looked like prior to colonization, and provides much needed habitat among the sea of concrete.

The 2026 World Cup Protocol Event honors the beginning of our Canoe Journey participation and the powerful legacy of representing our Puyallup Tribe.
Paying tribute to the historic moment in 1998, when 20 canoes first traveled to Puyallup Territory during the Power paddle to Puyallup, marking a renewed commitment to cultural resurgence, unity and traditional lifeways. Through protocol, song, and shared presence, we recognize the strengths of those who carried the paddles before us, the relationships built across nations and the continuation of our Canoe Journey traditions for future generations.
