When will the Comanche Nation provide health care to all tribal members, not just those in the service area ( Comanche, Cotton, Tillman, and portions of Kiowa, Stephens, Jackson, and Jefferson counties)?
Why isn't a CHR advocate made available for Native American individuals and families residing in the State of Texas to facilitate access to comprehensive health care services?
~If a National Health Care Program is launched by the Obama Administration what will be the status of Native Americans? Will we be required by law to purchase health care or be fined or will we be protected by the Indian Health Service?

What happened with this in the end? We need reform like any institution and that is what tribes are. People need to stop thinking younger people want to get rid of tradition, we don't, we just want to improve our systems. We want the most able to lead not those who were born in the right family!

To the above with great respect, I attended the Thousand drum gathering 5/29/2010. Let me start by saying that my great grandfather was 100% Cherokee, and therefore I have Indian blood, but I am now seeking the wisdom, and history of the Indian ways. With the utmost and deepest honor of the above comments, I must say, I felt shunned, and almost despised as I walked through the crowd because I was white. I saw lots of people sitting there in there groups, and no happiness on their faces, and many kept to themselves. I thought this was odd because the Indians have come quite far from the days of old. The casino's bring lots of money to the members, and non-natives must pay taxes, but not the Indians. I just don't understand why you feel so depressed. You have come along way , and you should be proud of your achievements. I grew up with the Bean family in our neighborhood, and they were the most caring people of them all (in our neighborhood). You never saw them doing wrong, but were kind people. I can only say that I believe that if a family has that much respect for others, then they taught their children well. I hope to someday understand the way of the Indian people, but the struggles of the past are history( with respect). If you want people not to be cruel, then please smile at them as they pass. It sure leaves an awful felling with that person that you hate the white person still, but your glad they come to the Casino.

Does his brother still receive a full 80 hours of pay when he doesn't come to work? Did he do anything when Tribal Law was violated because Frank Wright was writing fraudulent checks at OUR casino? Did he support Tribal Gaming when they brought this to the Council's attention? No he didn't. Is this because he and Frank have been good ol' boys for so long? Whenever you go to the building he is never there. Does he get paid for not being at work? He wants the glory of being on Council, but none of the responsibility.

This may be off-topic but I think it should be heard.

We should work on is tribal members who have felony, and are struggling to get somewhere. As a puyallup tribal member, I believe we should stand together, and take care of who we are. We should make some programs to give them a boost, eg employment training.

Also, As for the youth. Maybe at the youth center, make some classes for the kids for money management, as well as something to maybe point them in a direction. What do they like? What do they wanna do with the rest of their lives? The youth are our future. We need to teach them to be successful individuals when they grow old.

Often tribal members will send me (the webmaster and your sweatlodge buddy from the South Tacoma Tribe) items they wish to post anonymously on PuyallupNation.com. We have attributed the name "Thunderspeaker" to some of them, although they were written by several different tribal members. I know there are a lot of folks that are upset and looking for a place to be heard and at the same time keep their job or not have their Puyallup brothers and sisters up in their face about it. There are many other things that were written in anger that haven't been posted. Often Robert and I have discussed taking the PuyallupNation.com Blog down because it has gotten so negative. However we greatly appreciate people such as your self who bring it back to the positive side. Thanks for your comments.
