"News Tribune Got it Right!"
I would like to express my appreciation for the TNT article that posted on 12/2/07. In my life I have had been blessed by many elders and educators whom have shared their wisdom with me including the values expressed in this recent article. Full Circle embodies many of our traditional values especially inclusion, respect, honesty, generosity and most importantly…openness.

As the article explains, the truth is that since gaming has come to the tribe information has increasingly been censored and kept from the general membership. Since critical information was not being shared rumors fueled by fear were our only source of information. Our newly elected tribal members have worked diligently to bring factual information to our membership, which I see as the greatest gain made in the past two years. This increase in information sharing and openness among our membership allows us to make informed decisions for the betterment of our tribe. One of the greatest lessons passed onto to me is that “knowledge equals power.” Knowledge is being returned to the people and power is coming back to its rightful and traditional place; which is with the membership.

The momentum has shifted within the tribe and those that express displeasure should evaluate their own motivations. In the past two years, funding has finally been approved for youth and elders facilities that were promised and not delivered for the past 10+ years by incumbents. Activities are being offered for our youth and our community is coming together – this too is a return to our traditional ways. Thank you Full Circle for the positive changes that we are all blessed to share with one another!
I wish you PEACE & HAPPINESS this Holiday Season ☺!

I would like to express my opinion on the article that came out in the Tacoma News Tribune today. Although I am not fond of airing dirty laundry for all public to see, I am aware that it is nothing new in the general society. There has to be opposing parties,so people have a choice of who or what itinerary they want to support.
We have been following whoever is in office. Full Circle is just an opposing party, is that not okay? At least the people can look and say I agree or I disagree. We should as grown adults agree to disagree in a respectful manner.
Respect one anothers point of view. The final outcome is who the people will believe in.
Now all we need is debates......opposing parties.
In the general society you're either a Republican,Democrat or independent. When you register to vote you choose a party.
I have a hard time understanding why people are so up in arms over full circle. Why are you so intimidating. I enjoy the freedom to choose.

i read your article in todays paper.  we have had our problems with greed here too.  its good to see change take place.  this link to the cdatimes im not sure if that is still going.  check out the ndn bloggers.  they have a link to the coeur d alenes.  its amazing some of the things getting aired out on that site.  http://www.ndnbloggers.com/ndnbloggers/

on another note i am a member of the cda and also am a member of the steelworkers.  our union has started a national program offering free home lead testing kits and they have members travling around the country doing training.  the public shouldnt have to try and protect its self this way but something has to be done to protect our childeren.  if you are interested in seeing what they are doing go to www.usw.org .  i have checked from the health dept to fema to see if our government is doing anything like this with no luck yet.  i dont think its a good idea to find dangerous levels of lead in our childeren before we as citizens take action rather than waiting for someone else to do thier job witch should have been done in the first place.

a couple months ago i took over the job as rapid response coordinator for our local in spokane http://www.local338.com/HotSheet.html what i am wondering is if you ever happen to maybe use this info to start your own home lead program i would like to add that to our web site.  the steelworkers in auburn had thier first one last week,  im thinking that is going to spread in time.

the coeur d alenes web site is http://www.cdatribe.org/  there you can find a monthly on like copy of our news paper the council fires.

thanks and keep up the good work.

Greetings and Merry Christmas, I pray that all of you have many blessings through tout the year to come.

Many things have been happening and one of them was that Floyd Westerman passed last week, his funeral was in South Dakota. Floyd was instrumental in getting the plight for the AIM movement and all movements into the media arena, my favorite album was "Custer Died for Your Sins," it was a big hit in our family and still is today. He was our mentor, uncle and will be remembered and missed dearly through the world. I remember talking to him and his mission was getting a memorial for the "America Holocaust" and what happened to our people. Hopefully we can carry this on and fulfill this dream for so many of our elders who passed through to the other world. Many prayers are with Floyd's family and friends on these special days.

The Christmas Party was great, lots of room and food, no long lines and it was great. I had alot of fun visiting many people some family members who I met for the first time. So, it was a good membership gathering with lots of perks for all tribal members.

David Bean and his family honored his mother, sister, auntie, grandmother and relative Gloria Bean at the Skokomish smokehouse, it went was a honor to witness this event as many of the family united and paid tribute to this woman, who was involved in the fishing rights struggle and was involved in Tribal and Community functions, she supported her people and contributed to all events relating to our people throughout the united states. Our hands are up to all of her family for the fantastic memorial for this strong woman.

We are getting ready to plan the events for the upcoming year so any comments are suggestions are highly appreciated.

We are also gathering blankets, food and other non-perishable items for the homeless,. please call me at 263-606-1517 or deliver to David Bean or James Miles offices, or call Lucia at 253-312-1923,

WE will have a Winter moon Ceremony at Yet-Si-Blue's (Janet McCloud) grounds in Yelm Washington, there will be sweats on the 21st and the lighting of the bombfire and a potluck dinner, starting @ 6 p.m., there will be story telling and will be a fun event for the whole family, and acknowledge the solstice #10:38 p.m. everyone is welcomed.

As this year ends there have been many positive changes at the tribe, in families and in the community. There has been many family activities. In my family we are going to welcome two new members and I feel blessed. So Merry Christmas and have a Great New Year.

I'm the administrator of NDN Bloggers. The freedom of speech on NDN Bloggers was good enough for Wade until people said things he didn't like.

NDN Bloggers never claimed to represent Coeur D'Alene in any way shape or form.

It's there to allow freedom of speech and an independently moderated forum to air grievances.

You'll also notice the same sort of gossiping on Wade's tiny board that is on NDN Bloggers - the difference? On NDN Bloggers you won't be censored.

      Happy New Year Everyone;

This past year has been trying at times, but we still remain positive and ready to meet the challenges that we live with on a daily basis whether it be with work, health and just every day walk of life. but if we remain positive and uplifting we can change our lives and our children's and the future of the People of the Puyallup tribe. so I wish you a bright and happy new year with many many blessings and prayers for you and your families.

I am thankful for my children,(Lwamm, Aluenonmi, Jodan, Janel, April & David) grandchildren and my great-grandson they have been my strength, love and I just want them to know that they are loved and I am proud they are my descendants. I am also grateful for David, James, and the members of Full Circle, the web site and everyone that has touched our hearts.

I hope that this new year will bring an awakening to the People the plight of the younger generations and how we can come together in a good way with one mind to bring our children back to their traditions, culture and spirituality. Maybe we need to have a youth and elders gathering with our elders who fought for the rights of our people before they are all gone, so they can tell their stories and we can carry on the oral traditions. It seems that we can try to write it down but, sometimes it's lost so we could video the history---just some food for thought. the children of these WARRIORS are now the elders and before our real history is lost it is time to do something.
It is easy to place blame on other people or point the finger, but my dad always told me that there are three more fingers pointing back at you, it's easy to be in denial but only we have to own up to it one day, it is easy to degrade other people but remember someone is also degrading you. If we make life changes in our own lives our children will follow, if we are a positive influence our children will also be, if we take responsibility for our own wrong doing that our children will not have to carry that load. Sometimes we slip and fall, instead of whispering about that person, lets get together and help lift that person up, and empower our people with strength.

We give acknowledge and congratulations to Connie McCloud for her nomination in the inspiring women's book. And to all the young Puyallups that were born this past year.

And to those that have passed on to the Spirit world, you will be greatly missed by everyone--our prayers to the families.

God Bless You all & May you walk into the new year with beauty & love.
