As we wonder what happens with council behind the scenes they sit around a table and push issues to the side like the smoke house and vote on a raise for themselves. How can they do that? Vote on a raise for themselves. They can because they are abusing the power they have for self financial gain. What we need is a elected 30 member board that council would have to go threw before they can give themselves there next raise or any other issue regarding personal gain.

Our tribe has taken the shadow of Pine Ridge in the 60's with the way Dicky Wilson controlled and terrorized the traditional people of there tribe and promoted the (white washed) members. Why are our people afraid to speak out? Our peoples voices have been silenced due to the fact that they are either afraid they will lose there job, never ever get a job, or become set up for a crime they never committed.

When will it ever end? How much is enough? They make per council member 200,000 plus a year before there self-dictatorship vote for a raise they just voted on, so how much now? 250,000? 300,000? or how about the same as Frank Wright 500,000 a year. And then when will that end if ever? Who can stop them and when? We as the membership sit here with our hands tied behind our backs while they give self promoting raise's that range in the quarter million dollar a year range. We pay millions of dollars a month for salaries at our tribe to do nothing.

They accomplish nothing at all, there is nothing to show for it, if there is I haven't seen it - besides our tented casino. If we don't do something soon all of our resources will be depleted and have nothing to show for it except all the land and business' tribal council has acquired through the years. It's a sad day when our tribe has only 2 gas stations and a casino - and each council member has 5 to 10 business' and multi-million dollar land allotments they have purchased since on council and the membership only have 2 gas stations. This is what I call "legal embezzlement" when they hustle the tribe for a huge salary instead of the old fashion way - stealing it from programs and resources - plain and simple. They just steal through their salaries.
